As we start 2007, let’s all make a few resolutions. Here are my suggestions…………………… You can add to these as you like.
-
Every SCRA registered referee will read the 2007 Laws of the Game at least once.
-
Every grade 5 or 6 referee (or emeritus) will “adopt” a youth referee for at least 5 games during the year to act as a mentor and on-field advisor. This will expand the youth program and provide support for those youth referees aspiring to become "centers”.
-
Of the 350 or so registered referees, that we improve our monthly attendance at meetings to facilitate training requirements for annual re-certification. Remember, the annual requirements for grades 7 and 8 are 5 hours of training that can either be received at monthly meetings or spending an entire day at a re-certification clinic (and miss doing games that day). Your call.
-
In 2006 we had a number of upgrades from 8s to 7s and from 7s to 6 (State). Congratulations to you all. Let’s do it again!
-
We will become a well dressed and equipped referee group, i.e., shirts of different colors beginning with yellow, black and red (in that order) to look professional.

And finally (but not the least), we will have fun …………………………………………..
See you on the pitch!
